Matt Spack
Matt is the founder and CEO of Essential Home Inspections LLC. Matt has been a licensed home inspector since 2009 and has conducted over 6000 residential and commercial inspections. He has both contracting and environmental engineering experience. Matt is local to the Syracuse area and grew up on a farm in Lafayette NY, (no stranger to hard work). He then attended Colgate University were he played football and lacrosse.
Football has always been my passion and it has taught me everything I know today in terms of hard work, focus, team work, dedication, time management and adversity. I then had the opportunity to play in the NFL for a very short time period. After football I spent time contracting, flipping homes, investing in real estate, and sales. Each of these opportunities has created an extraordinary work ethic that I take great pride in all aspects of my professional and personal life. The same focus and effort will be applied to each home inspection that we conduct.
Stephen Kman
In addition to his extensive experience from conducting hundreds of inspections as a full-time NYS licensed home inspector, Stephen also has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology. He also has over 20 years of experience working in the field of technical sales. This unique blend of skills, combined with his meticulous attention to detail ensures that you are getting a thorough home inspection with high quality information that is communicated in a manner that clients understand.

Kurt Kannus
Kurt was born in Ithaca and has been a life long resident of the local area. Kurt was an electrical technology major in college, spent 5 years as Telecom manager at Guthrie Cortland medical, and has over 30 years of experience as an IT technology support engineer.
Kurt has extensive building experience on residential homes. He has technical knowledge in new build construction that will enhance his inspection ability for each client.
